Its roots can be traced to the first decade of the twentieth century, when Sidney Sanders (1871-1942) and William Frederick Metherell (1877-1936) combined to launch Sanders & Co. In 1905, this firm advertised as a manufacturing jeweller at Rye Lane, Peckham, in south east London.
