Joseph Parker (c.1829-1915), who was born at Harbourne, Staffordshire, started his electro-plate business in 1858 at Pool Works, Burgess Street.In the Census (1861), he was enumerated in Fitzwilliam Street with his wife Emma and three sons. He employed three girls. He advertised in 1860 and in 1862, when he highlighted his early experience with William Hutton. Between 1863 and 1872, his works address was Arundel Street.
