George Savage (bapt.1790-1872) was born in Sheffield, the son of George, a razor smith, and Ann. In 1822, he was listed as a razor manufacturer in the Park. In 1823, he admitted to infringing the ‘BENGALL’ mark of Hannah Cadman (see T. R. Cadman) and was compelled to issue a humiliating apology and a ‘promise never to do the like in future’ (Sheffield Independent, 8 March 1823).
