The brothers were William (1847-1928) and Washington (1856-1892), who were the sons of Charles Hill (1826-1899) and his wife, Mary Ann. Charles was a brass, ivory, horn and bone turner and maker of horn and stag handles at Burgess Street Horn Works. His sons took over in about 1890 (though a start date of 1792 was advertised).
