Isaac Hill (c.1819-1888) may been have the cutler of that name enumerated in Radford Street in the Census (1841). By 1861, he lived in Brookhill and appeared in a directory as an American merchant in Rockingham Street. Later in the 1860s, his business was in Westfield Terrace and he lived in Wilton Place, Collegiate Crescent. Hill’s appearance in directories was fleeting, but he apparently prospered.
