By 1828, Kitchen & Peacock was active as a factor and button maker at Fargate. The partners were Richard Kitchen (who had been listed alone in 1825) and John Thornton Peacock (1800-1864). The latter had been born in Sheffield, the son of John (a cutler) and Hannah, and baptised on New Year’s Day in 1801. The partners ended their arrangement in 1830.
