Joseph Price (1817-1886) was born in Walsall, Staffordshire. By 1850, he had married and was working in Sheffield as a spoon and fork maker. He lived in Garden Street, but by 1859 he had moved to the Wicker and was listed in a directory as manufacturer of German silver spoons, forks, and blades – besides running a boarding house.
