Like John Woolhouse, Samuel Woolhouse was a lancet and fleam maker. He was born in about 1790. According to directories, most of his career was spent working and living in the town centre in Orchard Street, Hawley Croft, or Campo Lane. At the latter address, in 1828 he was also running Reuben’s Head beer house. Thomas Woolhouse (possibly Samuel’s brother) was another lancet maker in Campo Lane. He died on 17 March 1829, aged 45, and was buried in St Peter’s churchyard. &nb....
