Willie Wild (1904-1984) was born in Sheffield, the son of Willie (a table knife hafter) and his wife, Emily. In 1911, the family lived in Milton Street, where several cutlery factories were based. In 1927, Willie Jun. married Lillian Hattersely. He appeared in the Register of England & Wales (1939) as a table knife cutler at Bowdon Street. In 1955, he incorporated W. Wild & Sons (Cutlers) Ltd, with £15,000 capital. The address was 24 Bramwell Street. The directors were Willie Wild, Rex Derek Wild (1928-1995), and J. Wild. Rex was Willie’s son; J. Wild, who lived at Palmerston Road, is unidentified. In the early 1960s, Wild’s relocated to Smithfield, where it remained until its closure during the 1970s. Willie Wild, of 11 Worcester Road, died on 19 July 1984, leaving an estate of about £40,000.
