In 1801, this enterprise registered a silver mark (‘GB & Br’) as a plate worker at 29 Furnace Hill. A London office was opened at Middle Row, Holborn. In 1805, the partnership was dissolved, when the principals were George, James, William, and Joseph Battie. Their subsequent lives have not been traced, but Wilkinson, Drabble & Mylius included a George Battie as partner. Meanwhile, the name James Battie appeared in another documented dissolution in 1806. The partners (alongside James Battie) were John Wright, Samuel Cocker, Revell Brown (who withdrew) , and John Ardron. The enterprise was described as a factor and manufacturer. William Battie may have joined Howard & Hawksworth.
