J. Badger & Son advertised in 1860 from Carlton Works, corner of Eyre Lane, as a maker of table cutlery and Bowies. Apparently, the partners were John Badger (1813-1884), who was born in Dalton parish, near Rotherham, and his son, Walter John (1839-1912). Both were table blade forgers (the latter was also a beer house keeper). The enterprise was short-lived, and Walter J. Badger was bankrupt in 1864, and again in 1869.
