This manufacturer advertised in The Ironmonger Diary (1952) from Progress Works, which was in Sudbury Street. Webster’s stated that it manufactured all kinds of butchers’ knives (some made from hand-forged double-shear steel) and a wide selection of trade knives for painters, artistes, gilders, and potters. W. Webster can be traced in directories between 1951 and the mid-1960s, when it apparently ceased business. The owner has not been traced.
